You might finish an article days before a feature launch, or write several posts during a quiet week and want to release them over time. Scheduling helps separate the moment you finish writing from the moment readers see the article. ZyVOP supports scheduled publishing through its web editor and its Markdown publishing workflow. You can prepare an article, choose when it should go live, and let ZyVOP handle the release when that time arrives. Schedule from the web editor If you write in ZyVOP’s editor, open your draft and use the publishing drawer: Choose Schedule for Later. Select the date and time you want the post to go live. Choose the time zone for that scheduled time. Review the selected destinations. Confirm with Schedule Article. The editor is useful when you prefer a visual calendar-style decision and want to review destinations as part of the publishing step. Schedule from Markdown For a Git-based workflow, put the scheduled time in the article’s YAML front matter. Use an ISO 8601 timestamp with an explicit time zone offset; Z means UTC. --- title: \"Announcing Our New API\" status: \"SCHEDULED\" scheduled_at: \"2026-11-12T14:00:00Z\" tags: [api, engineering, release] cross_post: devto: true hashnode: true bluesky: true ai_disclosure: human_written --- # What changed Explain the release and what developers need to know...Publish the file through the ZyVOP CLI: npx zyvop publish posts/new-api.mdZyVOP registers the article as scheduled using the scheduled_at value. An explicit offset prevents ambiguity when the person preparing the post and its readers are in different time zones. What happens at release time ZyVOP checks for scheduled posts regularly. When a post is due, its status changes from SCHEDULED to PUBLISHED. ZyVOP then starts cross-posting to the destinations enabled for that article. Other configured publication steps, such as follower notifications or newsletter delivery, can also run as part of publishing. The destinations in front matter make the intended distribution visible alongside the article. Before scheduling, check that each selected platform is connected and that the content is ready for that destination. Make a small release plan Scheduling works best when the article is ready before its release time. A simple routine can help: Draft and review the article first. Confirm code samples, links, and release details. Set the scheduled date and include an explicit time zone. Review which destinations are selected. Keep the Markdown source in Git so you can revise it before release. For time-sensitive announcements, leave room for a final check before the scheduled time. Scheduling makes the release predictable, while a review keeps the information accurate. Publish on your writing schedule You can schedule one post in the editor or manage release dates next to Markdown articles in your repository. Either way, the goal is to make publishing fit around the work of writing, review, and product development. Prepare the article, choose its release time, and let ZyVOP take care of the scheduled transition and configured distribution when it’s due.","contentHash":"sha256:3b6dd397467fe019f7ae3c30d379cdb8b12a01e6bc12a862be507d0d28f6040d","authorName":"Sanju Singh","authorUrl":"https://zyvop.com/author/sanjay687","authorSameAs":[],"category":"Build In Public","tags":["mermaid","developer blogging","scheduled-publishing","ZyVOP","markdown"],"audience":"Developers, software engineers, and students learning Build In Public","tone":"Practical and evidence-based engineering guidance","readingTimeMinutes":2,"wordCount":493,"faqs":null,"primaryTopic":"Build In Public","publishedAt":"2026-10-26T11:16:38.414Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-26T11:16:38.414Z","canonicalUrl":"https://zyvop.com/schedule-technical-articles-with-zyvop-from-draft-to-release-s1y1x"}
